Philip John Veitch

Philip John Veitch
We are saddened by the passing of Philip after a brief illness at his home in Philippines on December 3. Waiting to greet Phil in Heaven are his sister, Lisa, parents Anita Belanger (Merrill) and Charlie Veitch, grandparents Kennedy and Veitch, and members of his in-laws in the Ozon family. Phil leaves many, many loved ones mourning his loss, especially his two precious sons who he adored and was so proud of, Brian and Graham, and their mother, Joan, Marisol (Ris) Soledad, his partner in the Philippines who has always been kind and loving to Phil, especially during his illness. Also left to mourn are Phil’s brother, Charles, in Toronto, step-father, Merrill Belanger (Judy) in Topsail, many aunts, uncles, and cousins in the Veitch and Kennedy families. Special friends missing Phil are Cyril and Randy Collins, Mike Corcoran, Ian Mercer, Pete Richards, and Albert White along with many colleagues from Irving and Canship-Ugland. Phil will also be forever missed by his good friends in the Philippines from the Panglao Motorcycle Club, especially Ralf and Kenneth. Phil talked to and about these friends every day while he was in Newfoundland earlier this year, and kept in close contact with these friends every day. They also helped care for Phil during his illness and showed their unconditional love and friendship toward him. Phil had a soft spot for strays and his six dogs will surely miss him too, especially Wesley and Willow. Funeral and burial will take place in the Philippines. A memorial service will be held at a later date in St. John’s honoring Phil’s memory. Donations may be made in Philip’s memory to the John Howard Society, or any charity of choice. May he forever rest in peace! I see the smiling faces I know I must have left some traces (Led Zepplin)
