Rita Dorothy Holmes

1936 - 2018 Passed peacefully away surrounded by the loving and caring staff of the Lions Manor Nursing Home, Placentia on Monday, August 6, 2018, Mrs. Rita Dorothy Holmes of Shearstown, aged 82 years. Predeceased by her husband Edward Holmes, parents William & Clarice Saunders (nee Bowering), and brother William Saunders. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories is her son Ted Holmes (Sherry), sisters: Clarice (Lyle) Marshall and Donna (Derek) Drover, sister-in-law Linda Saunders, grandson Scott Holmes (Diana), step-grandson Justin Cumby, step-great-granddaughter Aslynn Shannon, daughter-in-law Jeanette Holmes and also a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation at Moore’s Funeral Home, Bay Roberts on Sunday: 2 – 5 PM; 7 – 9 PM; Monday: 10 – 12 Noon. Funeral service to take place on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 2:00 PM from the Trinity United Church, Shearstown with inurnment to follow in the Trinity United Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lions Manor Nursing Home, Placentia or Trinity United Church, Shearstown.
