Rod Moore
MOORE Rod (Roderick John) May 28, 1962 -- May 30, 2020 It is with profound grief and sorrow we announce the passing of Rod Moore, at age 58, surrounded by his loving and supportive family in his home. We take comfort that he is now resting peacefully after battling cancer for nine months. Rod was a loving husband and best friend to his Wife: Christine (nee Byrne). Affectionately loved and adored by his Daughter: Nicole and Son: Kyle (Kelly). A cherished Poppy to Autumn (Nicole). He was a precious Son of Ella (Ontario) and Reg (Deceased 2002), and the best big Brother to Cathy Gosse (Gerard), Elaine Randell (Paul), and Donna Moore (Dan). Rod leaves behind several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large circle of good friends--too many to mention. Rod was born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland, and moved to Cambridge, Ontario in 1987. He was an outstanding Electrician for 41 years, and a member of IBEW-local 804 for 33 years, and IBEW-local 2330 for 8 years. As an avid outdoorsman he loved engaging in wild gaming adventures such as duck hunting, deer hunting, moose hunting, as well as spending many days on his boat fishing. He thoroughly relished his many trips back home to Newfoundland. He enjoyed spending fun and loving time with his family and friends, ensuring to be the life of the party. As well, he was the best master to his dog: Chance, who often accompanied Rod. Sincere thank-you to all the Doctors, Nurses and Support Personnel at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, St. Mary’s General Hospital, and ParaMed Home Health Care. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Rod’s life will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Hobbitstee Wildlife Refuge: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/hobbitstee-wildlife-refuge/#donate-now-pane, or to a charity of one’s choice.
