POWER (GOLLOP) Ruby Lorraine Nov. 22, 1944 – Feb. 8, 2020 Passed peacefully away on February 8, 2020 at the PCU, with her daughter holding her hand, surrounded by her family. Ruby Lorraine Power, aged 75 years. Predeceased by husband of 29 years Fergus Power (Kingston ON), Stepdaughters Valerie Medeiros and Paula Deschamp, Her parents Charles and Hilda Gollop, her brothers Doug (Audrey), Dave, & Cyril (Nina), her sisters Joan & Jean Driscoll (Bert).Left to mourn with broken hearts, daughter Nancy LeDrew (Douglas), grandson Zachary whom she adored, and fur grandbaby Sophie. Ruby’s stepfamily in Kingston, ON. Sons Chris (Cheryl) Power & Patrick (Tammy) Power, Sons in Law Claudio Medeiros, & Glenn (Wendy) Deschamp,Grandchildren: Jessica (Shawn), Amey (Derek), Tyler (Amanda), Alicia (Jordan) & Carter; Great grandchildren: Meredith, Lincoln and Charlotte. Brothers: Roy Gollop (Betty), Bob Gollop (Jean Anne), Jim Gollop (Maisie). Sisters: Flora (Harold) Churchill, Linda (Ern) Churchill, Sister in Law Joyce Gollop. Many nieces and nephews and very special friends, both in NL and Kingston, ON. In 2018 mom returned to her home in St. John’s NL after spending 30 years in Kingston ON. Mom truly loved Ontario and spoke lovingly of the family gatherings and friends that she had made there. The past two years have been so wonderful; mom has done so much in that short time with her family and friends, those memories will last us all a lifetime. We would like to thank family physician Dr. Kelly Carew for care over the past two years. Also we wish to thank the nurses and Drs. at the HSC 4SA and the PCU at the Miller Centre for your compassion and care during this very difficult time. Cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday February 13th. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 15th 2020 at 11:00 a.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Interment to take place at a later date.
