Ruth Elizabeth Canessa

Ruth Elizabeth Canessa, 74, of Nokomis, Florida passed away unexpectedly on January 12, 2019 after a lengthy illness. Born and raised in Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Edwin James and Winifred Grace Parsons Short of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia; and the sister of the late Joan Bardon-Downie of Chester, Nova Scotia. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband, Ralph Charlette of Nokomis, FL; her daughter, Karen and her husband Eric Lindstrom, her grandchildren Abigail and Eric Lindstrom of Medway, Massachusetts; her son, Stephen Canessa also of Medway, Massachusetts; her stepchildren, Nancy Jones, Steven Charlette, Jo-Ann Hanzel and their families; and her sister's children Janet Bardon, Steven Bardon and Samuel Bardon and their families. She was the former wife of the late Charles William Canessa of Sudbury, Massachusetts. Ruth received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, and a Masters degree from Boston State College in Education. Ruth was a Real Estate broker and was interested in Real Estate investments. She loved to shop and had a flair for Interior Design. A memorial service and burial will take place in Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts at a later date.
