Stella Ash (nee Ralph) — St. John's

Passed peacefully away on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Health Sciences Complex, Stella Ash of Portland, Bonavista Bay, age 84 years. Predeceased by her husband Lawrence Ash in 1967. Predeceased also by her parents Heber and Annie (Gould) Ralph, her step-mother Rebecca Ralph, sister Madeline (Ralph) Bulgin and brother-in-law Gordon Bulgin. Leaving to mourn her sad loss are her children: Mary Russell (Eric), Larry Ash (Susan) and Sherry Russell (Melvin); grandchildren: Brent and Lance Russell, Janice (Ash) O’Brien and Robert Ash, Shonda and Mitchell Russell and 11 precious great-grandchildren whom she adored. Also, sisters Nellie Butt (Guy-deceased), Mary Holloway (Albert-deceased), and brother Ronald Ralph (Bonnie). Also, a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and special friend Annie Stagg. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you for the care and kindness Stella received from the staff of the first floor at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home where she resided since April 2016. Also, to the nursing staff of 4 South A, Health Sciences Complex for their care and compassion during her final days. Visitation will take place at Portland United Church, Portland, Bonavista Bay on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 3:30-9 p.m. and on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Funeral service on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from Portland United Church at 2 p.m. with interment to follow at Portland United Cemetery.
