The HON. DOUGLAS “HAIG” YOUNG, M.H.A. (Ret.) April 13, 1928 – March 14, 2019 On March 14, 2019 Haig passed away after a brief illness at Langley Memorial Hospital in Langley BC. Leaving to mourn son, Douglas (Sharon); daughter Marina (Darrel Reid); seven grandchildren: Doug “Avery” (Jen Bartlett), Stefan (Stephane Pesant-Young), Kristin (James Sonfield), Sara (David Francilia), Stephanie (David Guedes), Whitney (Eric Roch) and Kat Young; seven great-grandchildren: Meagan and Alison Young; Jude and Eva Sonfield; Charlotte and Naomi Francilia; and Luca Roch. Brother, Aubrey (Janice); sister-in law Betty Farrar (John Robinson); brothers-in law Don Farrar (Isabel) and Claude Farrar, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A service celebrating his life will be held at Carnell’s Funeral Home on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 2 pm with visitation on Saturday, July 20 from 11 am to 1:30 pm at Carnell’s.
