DUNPHY Thomas 1948-2020 Lamèque NB Thomas Dunphy, living in Lamèque, passed away peacefully at the age of 72 Thursday, May 21, 2020 in Lamèque Hospital. He was the husband of Jeanne Duguay-Dunphy. Born April 2, 1948, he was the son of the late Jack Dunphy and the late Mary Walsh of Carbonear, Newfoundland. Besides his wife, he is survived by his brothers: Brian, Dan (Brenda) and Johny (late Sheila) all of Newfoundland; his sister, Eileen of Newfoundland; a niece, Mélanie (Jeff Marler) whom he considered his sister as well as several other nieces: Julie, Colleen, Sarah, Maura, Sara and Lucy; his family in-laws: Colette Beaudin (Hughes), Paulette Duguay (Jacques), Gilles Duguay (Line), Tilmond Duguay (Lauza), Céline Mallet (Luc), Lucien Duguay (Laura) as well as several cousins, cousins, nephews and nieces . He will also be missed by good friends Bill and Alice Furlong, Kevin and Pauline Meehan and Randy and Rose Berkshire. He left to join his sister, Maureen. Tom served in the military for 25 years or had a great career. Upon retirement from the Canadian Armed Forces, he worked for 15 years as a commissionaire at the Legislative Building and the Centennial Building in Fredericton, NB. Tom loved playing golf and loved all sports, especially the Toronto Maple Leafs team. He loved to travel specially our trips to Newfoundland where we go almost every summer. At his request, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Red Cross would be appreciated. There will be no Visitations . The funeral will take place at Notre-Dame-des-Flots church in Lamèque at a later date for the immediate family.
