Vija Ratz
RATZ Vija Passed away at Stensrud Lodge, Saskatoon, on March 31, 2019. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred, in July, 2018. Vija was born in Latvia and, after WWII, moved with her family to Australia. In 1970, she and her husband emigrated to Canada and settled in Newfoundland where she was employed as an instructor in the Academic and Applied Arts Department of The College of Trades and Technology in St. John’s. She and her husband re-located to Saskatchewan in 1983. Vija will be remembered by her close friends and supporters, Jane and Tom Evans in Saskatoon, and by her colleagues and friends at the College in Newfoundland.
