Viola Alfreda Long (nee Mercer) — ST JOHN'S

LONG Viola Alfreda (nee Mercer) Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home on June 14th, 2019, Viola Long, aged 89 years. Predeceased by, husband Wilfred; son, Austin Long; parents Richard and Phoebe Mercer; and siblings. Leaving to mourn and celebrate her life are her daughters Elaine (Kenny) Nash and Joan (Craig) Nolan; grandchildren Ginny (Jon) Long, Kate (Brad) Nolan, Erin (Matt) Nolan, Heather (Johnny) Nash, Eric Long and Adam Long; great granddaughter Penelope Nolan; and daughter in law, Tammy Fry; as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A special thank you to the staff of 1 North, St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, for the care and compassion shown towards mom during her 2 years stay. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home on Sunday, June 16th from 4-9p.m. and Monday, June 17th from 10-2p.m. and 4-9p.m. also on Tuesday, June 18th from 10-12:30p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 18th at 1 p.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Kenmount Road Anglican cemetery.
