Violet May Wescott (nee Skanes)

Passed away after a short illness at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 82, on Friday, March 22, 2019. Predeceased by her parents: Rita (nee Kennedy) and Ernest Skanes. Leaving to mourn sisters: Elizabeth (Bob, deceased) Jeans, Joan (Ed) Goobie, Barbara (Dave), Marsha (Gary) Courage; brothers: Robert (Daphne, deceased) Skanes, Charl (Mildred, deceased) Skanes, as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. Special thank you to the nurses, doctors and staff at the Health Sciences Centre. Cremation has taken place at Violet’s request. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Monday, March 25, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Barrett’s Memorial Chapel on Tuesday March 26, 2019 at 11 am. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Violet’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
