Walter Oliver Muggridge

Passed peacefully away on October 18, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, St. John’s, surrounded by his loving family, Walter Oliver Muggridge, formerly of Lewisporte, in his 83rd year. Past Provincial Grand Master of the Grand Black Chapter of NL. He was predeceased by his parents Walter and Mary Ann; sisters Elizabeth, Annie and Martha and brothers James and Raymond. Leaving to mourn,but with cherished memories, his wife of 56 years, Doris; daughter Janice (Bruce Holwell), son Jeff (Deanna Ellsworth), grandchildren Samantha, Jordyn, Alexander and Andrew, all of CBS as well as a large circle of in-laws, other relatives and friends. The family are very grateful to the staff of Unit 2 at Lions Manor Nursing Home, Placentia and 2 East at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home for the professional and loving care he received during his short stays. Resting at Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, Lewisporte. Public visitation will take place Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 7-9 pm and Monday, October 22, 2018 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral will take place Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 2 pm from St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Lewisporte with interment at St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery Fund or the Alzheimer’s Society of NL.
