He was born in Burgoyne's Cove, Trinity Bay to Thomas and Phoebe Sutton on December 11, 1940 and lived 79 fulfilling years. He has been a long term resident of Mount Pearl moving there in 1967 with his loving wife (Ruby) Pauline (Johnson). Together they enjoyed a strong and loving marriage of 53 years. While Pauline mourns in sadness and grief, she has a heart full of memories of the life they shared together. Woodrow is predeceased by his infant son Gregory (1970). Woodrow was a man of action and committed completely too all his endeavors. Everything Woodrow did was important to him and deserved his full effort and attention. This devotion and desire was especially true in caring for his wife and family throughout his life. Woodrow is survived by his 2 daughters Alda (Rodney) Tee of Barrie, ON and Rhonda (Sean) Goulding, Logy Bay. He was a foundation stone for his family and took great pride in his daughters, their lives and families. His three grandchildren Jack and Sam Tee and Rachel Goulding were dearly loved. Often praised for their initiatives, always encouraged to be their best, appreciated and loved even more as only “Poppy” could. They are all grateful for his love and devotion. Woodrow leaves behind his three siblings Marguerite (Nigel) Drover, Harry (Rose) Sutton and Vida (Harvey) Keats and his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews on both the Sutton and Johnson side of the family. Woodrow also wished to express his desire to thank many longtime friends, neighbours and his co-workers from Labatt's for sharing his life’s journey. He fondly remembered you all and was always ready to reminisce about his experiences with you. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Team especially Dr. Zadorozny, Nurses Petrina Chafe and Claire Gover and PCA Lillian Reid for their wisdom, care and compassion in his final days. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation VOWR (http://VOWR.org) whose music gave Woodrow great comfort and solace during his illness or Eastern Health Paramedics Providing Palliative Care Program (www.healthcarefoundation.ca).
