William Francis Johnson

Passed peacefully away in the comfort of his own home, as he wished, surrounded by his loving family, William Francis Johnson, at the age of 89. Predeceased by his parents Francis and Patience, faithful companion Chico and sons-in-law Derek Purcell and Gerard Whiffen. Leaving to mourn are his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Blanche; his children Elsie Purcell (Randy Hammond), Shirley Fleet (Edward), Cindy Power (Frank), Bonnie Whiffen (Bob Lemar), Billy (Cathy), Tony (Julia), Diane Jackson (David), Kathleen, Michael (Lisa), Lisa, David and Donald. Also left to mourn his loss are his 15 grandchildren Lisa, Catherine, Kelly, Raymond, Martin, Amanda, Tommy, Stephanie, Stephen, Kyle, Melissa, Sara, Megan, Jennifer and Jessica and their families which include 13 great-grandchildren, as well as a very large circle of family and friends. Special thank you to the amazing staff at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital and the nursing staff that came to see him during his last few days. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Patrick’s Church. Interment to follow at Gates of Heaven, Southlands. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to Lion’s Max Simms Memorial Camp.
