HOPKINS William Gerald Passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019 surrounded by family at the Health Science Centre, William Gerald Hopkins of St. John’s, age 90 years. Predeceased by wife Edna (White) 2016; parents Thomas and Corisande Hopkins formerly of Heart’s Content; brother Frank and sister-in-law Gerry of Kentville, NS. Leaving to mourn son Glenn Hopkins of Toronto; daughters Susan Hopkins (Jason Budgell) and Sharon Metcalfe (Leroy) both of St. John’s; 5 precious grandchildren Andrew Hopkins, Sara and Sam Metcalfe, Anna and Issac Budgell; brother-in-law Eric White (Jean) of St. John’s; sister-in-law Violet Legge (Neville) of St. John’s; and close family friend Joan Grandy of St. John’s. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses at the Health Science Centre, Dr. Fagan and her team and family doctor, Dr. Kung. Resting at Barretts’ Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue with visitations on Monday, April 22, 2019 from 7pm-9pm and Tuesday. April 23 from 12pm-1:45pm. Funeral service to follow from Barrett’s Memorial Chapel at 2pm. Interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerald’s memory may be made to the Mazol Shriners, in aid of cripple children’s travel.
