LETTER: Churches should be open longer

A usually bustling George Street would be full of patrons and partners at this time on a Friday night but the popular bar strip sits completely empty due to COVID-19 restrictions.

It would appear that Satan is getting a better deal than God in the latest step to freedom from COVID-19. Bars are allowed to be open seven days a week for 10 or 12 hours a day, while churches are usually only open on Sunday for services for about three hours.

A bit one sided, but so far I have not heard much outcry from church leaders (not like from the States) so I guess they are OK with it. I've heard say that some churches collections are actually up since the close down, so I guess they are not hurting that way.

I know we can watch services on the internet or TV, but it is not the same.

The Bible says gather together with fellow believers for strengthening.

I'm sure glad we don't have many active cases (none right now) on the island, or else we'd never get our freedom back.
