I wish to respond to the item in The Telegram (May 4) about the appointment of our new female Lt.-Gov. Judy Foote.
I am tickled pink the female half of our population have a female Lieutenant Governor. However, I would like to ask if there is to be a male Lieutenant Governor appointed for the male half of the province’s population during Foote’s feminist sojourn as the top provincial government esteemed lady.
Foote, liberal party grandee and long-time Trudeau acolyte, has well earned her place at the political patronage trough of taxpayer money. This is so despite her bungling the handling of the Phoenix pay system leaving thousands of federal public servants in the lurch.
Foote made a point of sexual division by insisting on having an all-female ceremony and all female singers.
I am sure this sexist approach went over well with the young male singers of her former district who were deemed by the fact of their gender unfit to croon the inauguration lullaby to this latest liberal worthy.
Shaming them still further as well as anyone else of the male persuasion her Lieutenant Governorship intoned: “Today’s appointment is for every woman in our province.”
All very well but what about us wretched males? Will we get a male Lieutenant Governor while Foote addresses the concerns of the female population? Under Foote “inclusiveness” is the order of the day unless you are male of course.
Then some are more inclusive than others.
