LETTER: Hearts for helping the Heart Month campaign

Letter to the Editor
Letter to the Editor

As we near the middle of March, we wanted to take a moment to thank our wonderful canvassers who offer their valuable time to the Heart & Stroke Foundation for our Person-to-Person (P2P) Heart Month campaign.

The efforts of our volunteers to connect with our donors — raising critical funds for our mission — are vital to promoting health, saving lives and enhancing recovery.  Not only do canvassers help raise funds for research, they also share the signs of heart attack and stroke, and information about our #TimeToSeeRed women’s campaign, a campaign aimed at closing the research gap between men and women by reducing inequities in women’s heart and brain health and fighting for health systems change to ensure everyone has access to the right care.

Our campaign is underway and we thank our dedicated volunteers for the gift of their time. We also invite those who can help to reach out and get involved. Heart & Stroke is always happy to hear from people who are willing to canvass their neighbourhoods. If you have a few hours to share, Judy, our campaign manager, would love to hear from you: 709-383-1024 or judy.howlett@heartandstroke.ca

We sincerely thank those who are already canvassing and those who have donated to our P2P campaign. If you have not been canvassed, we hope you will consider making a donation online by visiting www.heartandstroke.ca/give or by calling us at 753-8521, toll-free 1-888-473-4636.

Life. We don’t want you to miss it.
