I ran into an old friend from my former cycling team at the bike store today.

He commented, “I won’t ride on the roads anymore.” I replied “me neither.”

I moved to Mount Pearl in 2003 and discovered their wonderful paved trails. About five years ago I developed arthritis in my knees.

Walking is painful, but I can bike for hours.

I ride the trails here regularly and have had no problems sharing the trails, they have been a godsend.

St. John’s should take a lesson from Mount Pearl and move forward with their bike plan.

Dave Healey,
Mount Pearl
