The old, old story — you cannot make them up — who in the name of would use a paint sprayer on a fence with possibly a three- to five-inch space between boards, with possibly top-notch grass freshly cut on other side? (Cheers and Jeers, The Telegram, Sept. 17)

Maybe they should have practiced on a wire mesh fence firstly, on a windy day.

Next — many people-with their vehicles have been about stranded on and off on Kingsbridge Road for the past about two weeks while a contractor dug up the street for repaving and – get this — only a short number of years ago the city or whomsoever rebuilt the road, and done the sidewalk there with fancy decorative heritage brick.

Cost a fortune. Good for tourist trade? (The government person says don’t worry it’s only money, and it’s not mine.)

Well, the heritage brick has disappeared along this street from where it was installed and it’s now a sidewalk covered with cement. Maybe they should hire an artist to paint pictures of tourists on this new-fangled concrete walk before someone else notices the heritage brick has walked away. The city may give 49 reasons why “it had to go.”

Oh me nerves.

Jim Campbell.
