Many people state we are not ready for an election, that we don't need an election and we can’t afford another election — I have to argue with them all.

This Liberal government inherited a bad situation but made it worse. I instead of dealing with situations they just pointed the finger of blame at the previous PC administration.

Since taking office in 2015 this government has been involved in many controversies and scandals.

In May 2019 provincial election, this current Liberal administration took advantage of the political situation and called the election early. Since then, it has been one scandal after another with four cabinet ministers having to apologize for things they said or done.

The premier himself has been knee deep in the Carla Foote scandal and I suspect it was the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back and contributed to his resignation.

We now have government with a lame duck premier and cabinet ministers that were involved or knew about these scandals.

The premier will be out the door sooner rather than later. A new leader will lead the Liberal party in the near future. This person will either continue on with Dwight’s “Way Forward” — which is not working — or set his/her own direction for the province of which he/she would not have a mandate from the people to do.

There will have to be a byelection called within 90 days to replace Dwight, which more than likely will be anything other than a Liberal elected, further restricting this present Liberal administration.

The simplest and cheapest thing to do is for the Liberal administration to elect or crown their new leader and dissolve this government and put the decision back to the people.

The only difference is instead of having the election within 12 or 14 months it will be within two or three months.

The new administration would have a mandate from the people and can bring down a new budget a bit later than usual.
