I wish to thank MUN president-designate Dr. Vianne Timmons for her response to my Dec. 3 letter to the editor in The Telegram, “Why MUN should implement an open admission policy.”

She writes: “Thank you for drawing this to my attention. Although I do not start at MUN for a few months yet, I have forwarded your letter to some of my colleagues there for their consideration — though I suspect some of them may already have seen it. As you might imagine, once I am president of MUN I will be assessing many aspects of the university's operations, and this will certainly be one of them."
