During these uncertain times, with a global pandemic going on, there are some essential workers who have yet to be acknowledged.

I have noticed security professionals in places from hospitals, airports, shopping malls and grocery stores and everywhere in between.

These men and women are on the frontline every day in our fight against COVID-19. The men and women of the security industry are putting their selves at risk everyday by reporting for work.

They are playing a critical part in our fight against COVID-19, by encouraging people visiting these sites to practice physical distancing, maintaining capacity orders for sites, and even cleaning and sanitizing shopping carts.

These men and women are put at risk every day and have families to go home to and provide for in these uncertain times.

I would like to take a moment to thank and acknowledge each and every security professional, as well as all frontline workers who are reporting for work every day not only here in Newfoundland and Labrador but all over the world.

Stay safe.
