LETTER: Halifax CFL game plan wild

The company hoping to bring a CFL team to the Maritimes has proposed Halifax harbour's Shannon Park as the site for a 24,000-seat stadium. The proposal by Maritime Football Ltd. estimates construction costs between $170,000 and $190,000 with both municipal and provincial funding support.

Well, the CFL boys were back in  town last week with their tin cup (Feb. 22 story), looking for  $250,000 from HRM and $100,000 from the province to stage one football game at SMU,  which they say will cost $1.5 million in total!

The upside is they expect hordes of people from Saskatchewan to come to our city. I can't wait to meet Hank from Corner Gas.
