A banner day with a silver lining

Representatives from the 2016 Canadian Football League champion Ottawa RedBlacks were at the Confederation Building’s House of Assembly Thursday afternoon with the Grey Cup in tow.

The RedBlacks are owned by Stephenville native Jeff Hunt. He and members of the team have come to his home province to show off the hard-won trophy.

Their special guest visitor Thursday was nine-year-old Steven Sullivan, who iss battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia, Steven, who is the 2017 Janeway Children’s Hospital Miracle Child Champion, met with RedBlacks receivers Brad Sinopoll and Greg Ellingson and was also presented with a provincial flag signed by all members of the House of Assembly.

As part of their visit to St. John's, Sinopoli and Ellingson conducted a clinic for young football players at the Techniplex in Pleasantville.
