Before heading to Deer Lake, figure skater Barbara Kate Cavell will be delivering newspapers that will include her picture

Barbara Kate Cavell, a 14-year-old figure skater from the St. John’s North region, will be one of hundreds of athletes headed to Deer Lake today for the second half of the 2018 Newfoundland and Labrador Winter Games. She was busy packing her things Tuesday night for the trip to the west coast knowing she had things to do the next morning: Barbara Kate and her 11-year-old sister, Helen, have been delivering Go Bags for The Telegram for the past three years, in addition to a paper route since September. The girls had to get their papers done this morning before Barbara Kate headed out over the road.
