Senior hockey player Kevin Reid is The Telegram sports department’s choice as athlete of the week.
Reid fired five goals and added an assist for good measure last Sunday afternoon as the Clarenville Caribous defeated the Gander Flyers 8-2 in Game 2 of the Central West Senior Hockey League final in Gander.
The win evened the best-of-seven series 1-1.
In Game 1 Saturday night, a 7-5 Gander win, Reid collected an assist for the Caribous.
In addition to ice hockey, Reid stars on the ball hockey floor as well. He was part of Canada’s silver medal-winning team at the world ball hockey championship last summer in the Czech Republic.
