Clarenville Caribous senior hockey player Kevin Reid is The Telegram sports department’s choice as athlete of the week.
Reid single-handedly dismantled the St. John’s Caps last Sunday, firing five goals in the Caribous’ 8-6 win at Clarenville’s Eastlink Events Centre.
That came on the heals of a 4-2 win over St. John’s Saturday night, a game in which Reid picked up a pair of assists.
It’s the second time Reid has been selected athlete of the week following a five-goal game. He accomplished the feat last March after scoring five against the Gander Flyers.
Reid leads the provincial senior hockey scoring race with 10 goals and 18 helpers on 10 games.
