That included Baseball NL’s bantam AA final where the Capitals edged Mount Pearl 2-1 at Stoney Hill Park in C.B.S. after wet weather and field conditions forced the tourney out of St. Pat’s Ball Park in St. John’s.
Other St. John’s teams triumphing in the championship games of weekend provincial tournaments were the bantam A entry that downed Paradise 11-1 at the Gushue Complex in Mount Pearl; the mosquito AAAs, who defeated host Corner Brook 3-1 on the west coast; and the girls U14 side that blasted Grand Falls-Windsor in a tourney also played in Corner Brook.
