Clarke, Flynn lead N.L. bantams to win over Manitoba

The result evened Newfoundland’s record at 1-1.

Flynn’s run backed an impressive complete-game pitching performance by Aaron Clarke of Conception Bay South, who scattered seven hits, allowed two walks and struck out seven while allowing just a single earned run.

Alex French of Mount Pearl and Devon Ryan of St. John’s each had two hits for Newfoundland, which finishes up its round-robin schedule with games against the other two entries from the Prairie Provinces — Alberta and Saskatchewan — today.
