Crusaders get by Double Blues in intermediate play

Holy Cross shaded Feildians 3-2 in one of two St. John’s Molson intermediate baseball games Tuesday night at St. Pat’s Ball Park.

Jacob Reid (6.0IP, 6H, 2R, 1ER, 3BB, 7K) pitched the win over Peter Walker (1.0IP, 2H, 1R, 1ER, 1BB, 0K). Alex Curtis (4.0IP, 5H, 2R, 1ER, 2BB, 2K, 1HBP) started for the Double Blues.

Blair Penney of Holy Cross and the Feildians’ Nick Curran and Gavin Clarke were all two-for-two at the plate.

The other games wasn’t as entertaining as the Gonzaga Vikings trounced Body Quest Generals 13-1 in five innings.

Allan Saunders (5.0IP, 3H, 1R, 1ER, 3BB, 7K, 1HBP) went the distance to get the win. Dan Harris started, lasted two innings and was tagged with the loss.

Saunders helped his own cause with a base hit, two runs scored and three runs knocked in.
