Scott Goosney scattered six hits in an efficient complete-game performance as the two-time defending champion OMT Shamrocks downed the RMM Gonzaga Vikings 9-3 in the opening game of the St. John’s Molson senior baseball final Monday night at St. Pat’s Ball Park.

Goosney (1W, 2K) got the win over Vikings starter Dan Connors (4.2IP, 5H, 3W, 5K), who gave up six runs, Relief: David Lahey (2.1IP, 4H, 3R, 4W, 5K) finished up for Gonzaga.

Greg Barry had two hits and scored twice for the winners.

Game 2 of the best-of-seven final is Wednesday night at St. Pat’s.
