Kobe Weir allowed only one hit in a complete-game effort as the Knights downed Feildians 4-1 in one of three St. John’s Molson intermediate baseball games Tuesday night.

At the Smallwood Drive Ball Park in Mount Pearl, Weir struck out nine batters, but struggled with his control, issuing eight walks.

Nick Curran was tagged with the loss, after coming on in relief.

Matt Janes knocked in three of the Knights’ runs.

At St. Pat’s Ball Park, Holy Cross and Shamrocks registered easy wins.

The Crusaders blanked the Gonzaga Vikings 10-0 with Eric McKay going three-for-four with a single, double, home run, an RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base.

Nick Bill (4IP, 8H, 7R, 6ER, 4BB, 1K) was tagged with the loss. Alex Joy (0.1IP, 3H, 3R, 2ER, 0BB, 1K) pitched in relief.

Shamrocks trimmed Guards 11-1 in the nightcap.

In a flashback to the 1980s, the Shammies’ starting pitcher-catcher battery was Sean Gulliver and Peter Cornick. Gulliver (2IP, 3H, 1R, 1ER, 0BB, 1K, 1WP) started for the shorthanded Shamrocks and was relieved by his son, Jaxson (3IP, 0H, 0R, 0ER, 1BB, 3K).

Aaron Dyke, the first of three Knights pitchers, was charged with the loss.

Another Gulliver player on the Shamrocks, Raygan, was three-for-four with a pair of singles, double, three RBIs and a couple of stolen bases.
