Wednesday night at St. Pat’s Ball Park, the intermediated Shammies got by Holy Ctoss 4-3 to gain a 3-1 edge in the best-of-seven final.

Game 5 is set for 6 p.m. Friday at St. Pat’s.

Thursday night at the same field, the Shamrocks and RMM Gonzaga Vikings meet up in Game 6 of the best-of-seven St. John’s senior final. The Shammies lead that series 3-2.

Wednesday night, Zack Fitzpatrick drove in one of his two runs in the third inning to give the Green and Gold a lead they would never relinquish and later struck out both batters he faced in the bottom seventh inning for the save in relief of starter Jaxson Gulliver (3H, 7W, 8K).

Holy Cross starter David Edwards, who gave up all four runs, took the loss.

Fitzpatrick and Eric MacKay of the Crusaders each had two hits.
