New St. John's senior baseball season begins

Gerald Butt of the Roebothan McKay Marshall Vikings in out at second base on a tag by the OMT Shamrocks’ Dylan McKenzie during their game on Saturday, the opening day of play for the St. John’s Molson Senior Baseball League’s 2018 season at St. Pat’s Ball Park. In a rematch of last year’s league final, the defending champion Shamrocks edged the Vikings 7-6. In Saturday’s other game, Holy Cross defeated the Knights 11-1 in a game abbreviated to five innings.
