Four teams will attempt to dethrone the St. John’s Capitals as the 2019 Molson Coors provincial junior A baseball championships begin today at St. Pat’s Ball Park in St. John’s.

Besides the defending champion Capitals, competing teams include the Mount Pearl Blazers, Conception Bay South Raiders, Grand Falls-Windsor Braves and Corner Brook Barons.

Action gets underway at 1o:30 a.m. this morning with the host Caps taking on Mount Pearl.

There will be five games both today and Saturday as the teams play a single round-robin format. That will lead to a championship game between the top two finishers 11 o’clock Sunday morning.

Today’s full schedule at St. Pat’s:

1o:30 a.m., St. John's vs Mount Pearl

1 p.m., C.B.S. vs Corner Brook

3:30 p.m., Mount Pearl vs Grand Falls-Windsor

6 p.m., Corner Brook vs St. John's

8:30 p.m., Grand Falls-Windsor Braves vs C.B.S.
