Charlie Blackmon homered, Daniel Murphy had four hits, and the Colorado Rockies held on to beat the San Diego Padres 11-10 in Denver on Saturday night.

Trevor Story, Tony Wolters and Pat Valaika had two hits apiece to help starter Peter Lambert get a victory for the first time in 16 starts.

Jesus Tinoco, the Rockies' ninth pitcher, got the final four outs for his first career save.

Manny Machado homered and Josh Naylor had two hits for San Diego, which lost first baseman Eric Hosmer and manager Andy Green when they were ejected in the fifth inning by third base umpire Carlos Torres.

Lambert (3-6) won his first two starts after being called up June 6, but he was 0-6 in his next 15 starts.

He started roughly on Saturday, walking two batters in the first inning ahead of Wil Myers' double that gave the Padres a 2-0 lead.

Lambert settled down after that, retiring 10 of the next 11 batters. He left after giving up three more runs in the fifth inning. He allowed five runs on five hits and walked three batters with no strikeouts in five innings.

His teammates rallied against San Diego starter Eric Lauer to give him a big cushion entering the fifth. Colorado scored three in the second after two were out and tacked on six more in the third, chasing Lauer (8-9) with one out in the inning.

Blackmon led off the Rockies' third with his 28th homer. Two errors and Valaika's second hit of the game brought the end for Lauer, who allowed six runs -- four earned -- on six hits in 2 1/3 innings. He walked two and struck out two.

Wolters and Murphy had run-scoring singles and Nolan Arenado had a two-run double later in the third inning to make it 9-2.

The Padres got three back in the fifth, but Hosmer was tossed after saying something to Torres about a check-swing strike, and Green came out of the dugout and was thrown out moments later.

Murphy had RBIs in the fifth and seventh innings to make it 11-5, but the Padres made it close with five runs in the eighth, the last three scoring on Machado's 30th home run of the season.
