Phillip Edwards scattered four hits and allowed just a single walk over six innings of work as Holy Cross thumped the Riverdale Storage Storm 11-1 in the first game of the 2019 Molson St. John’s intermediate baseball season Tuesday night at St. Pat’s Ball Park.

Edwards struck out five and the only run he permitted was unearned in e game shortened by an inning because of the league’s 10-run mercy rule.

Jacob Reid delivered three singles, stole two baes and scored three times for the Crusaders.

Isaac Doyle took the loss, allowing nine runs, although just two of them were earned. Aaron Peach and Blake Fudge pitched in relief for the Storm, who got two hits from Adam Hennessey.
