Graham King struck out 10 batters in allowing just two hits over six innings as Shamrocks downed Holy Cross 6-3 in St. John’s Molson intermediate baseball play Thursday night at St. Pat’s Ball Park.

King gave up three walks and the three Crusader runs — none of them earned — in the game shortened by an inning Dylan Mackenzie and Michael Molloy each had two hits for the winners.

Declan Barron scored twice for Holy Cross.

Holy Cross starter Jacob Reid (4IP, 7H, 5R, 3W 4K, 1HBP) took the loss. Nick Evans pitched two innings of scoreless relief.

In Thursday’s other game at St. Pat’s, Feildians doubled the Body Quest Generals 12-6.

Winning pitcher Danny Rice (5IP, 6H, 2R, 4W, 3K) helped his own cause with three hits and three runs scored. Devon Murphy and Nick Curran finished up for the Double Blues.

Michael Healey was tagged with the loss, Ben Halfyard, Nathan Flynn and Liam Bavis also pitched for the Generals .

Flynn had two hits, two RBIs, two runs scored and two stolen bases.
