Feildians shaded the Gonzaga Vikings 5-4 in one of two St. John’s Molson senior baseball games over the weekend.
At St. Pat’s Ball Park Saturday, Riley King (2.1IP, 3H, 3R, 2ER, 3BB, 2K) got the win in relief of starter Alex Walsh (4.2IP, 4H, 1R, 0ER, 5BB, 3K). Mike O’Neil (1IP, 4H, 5R, 4ER, 1BB, 1K) was tagged with the loss in relief. Ryan Morgan (6IP, 1H, 0R, 0ER, 5BB, 10K) started and turned in a fine performance.
Walsh led the Double Blues at the plate with a double and single. Gary Dymond had a big game for Gonzaga with three base hits and a stolen base.
Friday night, Sean Janes (7H, 2R, 2ER, 1BB, 2K) threw a complete game as Holy Cross got by Shamrocks 6-2.
Scott Goosney (5.1IP, 6H, 3R, 2ER, 3BB, 3K) was tagged with the loss. Mattie Murphy (1.2IP, 4H, 3R, 3ER, 2BB, 0K) pitched an inning of relief.
Mike Janes was two-for-two for the Holy Cross, with a single, double and stolen base. Bernie Morgan had a pair of hits for Shamrocks.
