Gary Dymond hit a grand slam, and Mike O’Neil cranked a two-run shot as the Gonzaga Vikings powered their way past Shamrocks 13-6 in St. John’s Molson senior baseball Wednesday at St. Pat’s Ball Park.

Dymond finished the night with three hits, supporting an outstanding effort from winning pitcher Ryan Morgan, who scattered five hits over six innings while fanning 10. Morgan allowed three walks. Alan Saunders (1IP, 0H, 0R, 0ER, 0BB, 0K) pitched a perfect inning pf relief.

Ryan Dooley (2IP, 8H, 7R, 6ER, 2BB, 0K) was tagged with the loss, in relief of starter Matt Murphy (4IP, 9H, 6R, 5ER, 3BB, 0K).

Scott Stockley had a pair of base hits for the Shammies.

In another game, Danny Rice was a perfect four-for-four at the plate with a pair of RBIs and two runs scored as Holy Cross outscored Knights 11-8.

Ron French (3.2IP, 5H, 8R, 5ER, 2BB, 2K, 1HB, 1BK) started and got the win, with relief help from Mark Healy (2.1IP, 0H, 0R, 0ER, 0BB, 1K).

Tyler Holwell, the first of three Knights pitchers, was tagged with the loss.
