At King George V Park in St. John’s, Dolo had a hat trick in the first half and followed up with another marker 21 minutes into the second stanza before Jordi Slaney of the Laurentians ended Braden Sheppard’s shutout bid with just over 10 minutes remaining in regulation.

The win moved Feildians into sole possession of first place in the six-team provincial senior men’s league, three up on the C.B.S. That Pro Look Strikers, who were idle on the weekend. C.B.S. has two games in hand.

Sunday’s result delivered St. Lawrence its first loss through four contests and left the Laurentians with a split of a pair of weekend road games. On Saturday, in the first Challenge Cup match played at the Dianne Whalen Soccer Complex, the Laurentians blanked Paradise 2-0, with Slaney and Brett Hennebury providing the goals and veteran John Douglas recording the shutout.

Paradise, the league’s newest entry, is still looking for its first point through five games.

The expansion club gets a chance to rectify that in the next league contest as its hots Mount Pearl Wednesday night at the Whalen Complex.
