Memorial University played host to the Atlantic University Sport men’s and women’s curling championships over the weekend at the Remax Centre (St. John’s Curling Club), which saw the Dalhousie Tigers win both the men’s and women’s championships.

Memorial men’s team of skip Greg Blyde, Daniel Bruce, Ryan McNeil-Lamswood and Nathan King lost 8-2 to UNB in semifinal play.

The women’s team of skip MacKenzie Glynn, Camille Burt, Chantal Newell and Stephanie Nadeau lost 8-7 in an extra end in a tie-breaker to get to the semifinal.

VOLLEYBALL

The Lady Birds travelled to Fredericton, N.B., where they lost 3-0 and 3-0 to the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds. Memorial is 1-18 on the year.
