The Gander Flyers from provincial senior hockey’s Central Division hit the road and swept a couple of games from their Eastern Conference rivals over the weekend, beating the St. John’s Caps 7-5 and Conception Bay Blues 5-2 Friday and Saturday.

The Clarenville Caribous visited C.B.S. Friday and came away with a 5-3 win over the Blues. The Caribous were in Mobile Sunday night taking on the Southern Shore Breakers.

At Twin Rinks Friday, Jordan Escott fired three goals to lead the Flyers past the Caps. Lucas McKay, Paul Hutchings, Brett Shute and Andrew Ryan also scored for Gander. Robbie Everson had a pair in a losing cause. Mike Druken, Robert Inder and Colin Escott added singles. At the C.B.S. Arena Friday, Kevin Reid and Mason Reid both scored twice, and Chris Sparkes had the other as the Caribous beat the Blues. Ian Skinner, Lucas Lush and Brandon O’Neil scored for the home team.

Saturday in C.B.S., Ryan netted a pair of goals for Gander over Conception Bay. Hutchings, Shute and Andrew Paul added singles. Cody Batten and Michael Ryan replied.
