Brad Gushue and his St. John’s curling team have certainly travelled quite the distance for their latest World Curling Tour event.

Gushue, Mark Nichols, Brett Gallant and Geoff Walker are in Chongoi, China for the China Open, and carry a 2-0 record in today’s game against Lucien Lottenbach of Switzerland.

The Jennifer Jones team based out of Winnipeg is also taking part in the event. The two rinks are the only Canadian teams entered.

Gushue registered a 9-4 win over South Korea’s Soohyuk Kim Monday, and followed up with a 7-3 decision over Kroy Kemberger of the United States Tuesday.

Beijing is playing host to the 2022 Winter Olympics. China is preparing its curlers for the Games by staging a couple of WCT events each year.
