The Brad Gushue curling team from St. John’s was 3-0 heading into an evening game against Norway’s Thomas Ulsrud Wednesday at the China Cup, a World Curling Tour event in Chongoi, China.

Gushue, Mark Nichols, Brett Gallant and Geoff Walker beat Switzerland’s Lucien Lottenbach 12-4 Wednesday.

Team Gushue, the reigning Tim Hortons Brier champions, and Jennifer Jones’s foursome from Winnipeg, which won the Scotties Tournament of Hearts crown last season, are the only Canadian entries in the event as China prepares for the 2022 Winter Olympics.
