Four School Sports provincial high school basketball championships will be decided this weekend.
Mobile Central High is playing host to the 4A championship, while the 3A championship is currently ongoing at Stephenville High. Roncalli Central High in Avondale is staging the 2A championship and the A tournament is being played at Belanger Memorial in Doyles.
The Holy Heart Highlanders are favoured to win the 4A tournament. Heart is 34-1 this season, having won the Hall of Fame Cup, Sweet 16, Keith Keating Memorial, Mount Pearl Senior High, Waterford Valley Legend City Classic and Holy Heart Elevate Classic tournaments.
The only tournament Holy Heart did not win was the Gonzaga Invitational, and the Highlanders’ only loss was to the Vikings in that event.
