MARYSTOWN, NL— It was another exciting match-up last month as members of the Burin Peninsula RCMP team faced-off against the team from Eastern Health at the annual RCMP Charity Hockey Game held April 13 at the Kaetlyn Osmond Arena in Marystown.

This year’s event, which was organized and run by Cpl. Derm Roul, raised over $15,500 for the Burin Peninsula Health Care Foundation with a specific focus on funding for Mental Health initiatives.

A release from the department about the event from the reads;

This event could not have been successful without the help and support of all our community businesses, partners, independent supporters and of course our hometown hero Kaetlyn Osmond who took time out of her busy schedule to drop the ceremonial puck. The real entertainment of course came from our Marystown Minor Hockey Tim Bits who showed all our fans that hockey is alive and well on the Burin Peninsula.

The RCMP would like to thank Eastern Health, The Burin Peninsula Health Care Foundation and all members of the community who supported this worthwhile community event. We look forward to next year’s event.
