Liam Myers of the Northwest Eagles enjoyed a big weekend in the East Coast Senior Hockey League, scoring five goals in a pair of games, including the overtime winner Saturday night.

Myers scored 22 seconds into the extra session Saturday, capping off a hat trick, as the Eagles (1-2) slipped past the homestanding Southern Shore Breakers 8-7.

Evan Penton and Dan Cadigan both collected a pair of goals for the Eagles, and Ben Roberts scored once. Sean Wadden had four assists for Northeast, which was playing its second straight game with just 12 skaters.

The loss ruined a big game by Jeremy Nicholas, who fired four goals for the Breakers (2-2). Brandon Pye potted two goals for Southern Shore, and Michael Chafe scored once.

Friday night at Jack Byrne Arena, Myers netted a pair of goals, but it was all for naught as the Eagles dropped a 3-2 decision to Conception Bay Blues.

Zach Hoskins, Carter Marissen and Drake Dower, with the winner, scored for the Blues (1-1).

Mark Yetman was busy in the Northeast goal with 58 saves.

At Twin Rinks Friday, former pro Terry Ryan scored two goals and assisted on two others as the St. John’s Caps skated to a 4-1 win over the Breakers. Jeremy Barron also scored twice for the Caps (2-1), while Pye had the lone Breakers goal.
