It took a while to decide, but the Frank Roberts Ravens are winners of the Akita Equipment Shield, the junior high school hockey competition associated with the Conception Bay South Winter Carnival.
The Ravens edged the defending champion Villanova Vipers 4-3 Thursday night at the C.B.S. Arena to take the best-of-three series 2-1.
Game 3 was supposed to be played last Friday, but was postponed nearly a week because of player availability issues.
Evan Peach of Frank Roberts, who scored twice Thursday, including the game-winner, was his team’s player of the game. Villanova’s honours went to Daniel Priddle.
